SCREEM #44 rises again from
the undead with another issue packed with feature
articles, interviews and reviews!
One of the great classic horror films from Hammer
studios, THE CURSE OF FRANKENSTEIN is brought
back to life in an all new stunning 4K restoration.
Film historian Mark Clark puts Frankenstein's
monster under the microscope and tells us the
gory details. THE LAST SHARK (aka GREAT WHITE)
is an 1982 Italian JAWS clone that was given
a cease-and-desist by Universal Pictures when
it hit the American theatrical market 40+ years
ago. As most of us know, ya can't keep a hungry
shark down, and the folks at Treasured Films
UK take the fish out of water, so to speak,
and give film fans a brand new Blu-ray edition
of what can best be described as the bloodiest
Sharksploitation movie of all time. Troy Howarth
(who also provided a commentary track on the
disc), dives deep into the belly of the beast.
John-Paul Checkett returns to Screem with his
Deep Focus column, where he brings light to
films that have received critical acclaim, but
slipped under the radar. This time around, John-Paul
covers 2020's VIOLATION. Andy Rausch's pulls
up a seat for director Jeff Lieberman (SQUIRM,
JUST BEFORE DAWN) in his Director's Chair column.
All this, plus a wealth of 4K and Blu-ray reviews
await you in the latest issue of Screem magazine!
